If your only concern is to allow access to the HP3000 through the network, then you do not need to run Netware/iX. However, the HP and all PCs needing HP access through the network must be communicating via TCP/IP. In addition, on each PC you will need an HP3000 terminal emulation package that handle network connectivity. The two choices come from Reflection (~$450 for Reflection and Connection 3000 combined) and Minisoft ($150 for Minisoft 92). We use WRQ but will be migrating to Minisoft because of the exhorbitant cost of the WRQ products (so far, testing of Minisoft has been trouble-free). As far as performance is concerned, we have less than twenty users accessing the HP through the network, and have noted no performance impact on the HP or the network. If you really do need to run Netware/iX, then I am afraid I have been of little help, and I will have to leave the question as to whether Netware/iX impacts the HP, or rather, how much it impacts the HP, to others. Good luck, Billy Rowland
