Hello Jean,

Just a quick note to clean up some confusion I have seen on this thread.

On MPE/iX 4.0 release:
  1. FTP client/server is available as a purchased product from HP.
  2. Telnet is not available.

On MPE/iX 5.0 release:
  1. FTP client/server is a FOS product (no longer purchased) from HP.
  2. Telnet client (outbound) is a FOS product from HP.

On MPE/iX 5.5 release (to be available soon):
  1. FTP client/server is a FOS product from HP.
  2. Telnet client/server (inbound & outbound) is a FOS product from HP.

Note: Disclaimer: "The answer I gave here for the 5.5 release concerning
telnet is pre release, HP could change their mind on this... But it has
been well advertised that this functionality is on the way, so I do not
believe I am giving away any secrets"...

For any one who has questions about what "FOS" means, "FOS" stands for
Fundamental Operating System. I.E. It comes free with MPE/iX.
                                              ****

I hope this clears up the confusion.
