Presumeably you're trying to log in to the HP3000 via the network - rather than serially thru a DTC port. First of all, you probably want to specify "VT-MGR" - not "TELNET-MGR". Then, instead of specifying a host name (which you can do - but let's walk before running here), specify the ip address of the HP3000 - which you must first set via NMMGR on the host HP3000 (If you want some help here, just let us know). Assuming you've done this, you also need to specify an IP address for your PC (which you will be able to do if you have the required TCP/IP software on your PC). On your PC, you will need the appropriate NSVT software (NSOPEN or 3000Connection, from WRQ). Finally, assuming your host HP3000 network is properly configured and up and running (via the relavent NETCONTROL and NSCONTROL commands, you should be able to see the MPE/XL: (or whatever) prompt. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gilles Schipper Voice: 905/889-3000 GSA Inc.
