Just a note of clarification. There have been a couple of replys now which have suggested the HP JetDirect EX box. This is indeed a very good print server, but Paul's message indicates that he needs to connect a SERIAL printer. The JetDirect EX boxes that we use only support PARALLEL printers. Unless there is another model EX that I'm not aware of, this won't work. You could, of course, get a serial-to-parallel converter I suppose. But it's probably just as easy to buy something like the Intel NetPort box to start with. These boxes have both serial and parallel ports and we have used them quite successfully in this type of application.
