According to Jim Vaillancourt: > > HP wants $440 plus zone 4 charges to install a CD Rom on a 927-LX. Has > anyone installed one themselves. If so, how difficult was it? > I saw our CE install ours. We have the internal version and it comes with a install kit. It looked easy. Do you have an internal tape drive? There is some trick to the internal SCSI cable connectors - you don't want to pull them off the internal disk drives or tape (if you have one). Also, be sure you have a SCSI address available - if you have external SCSI drives connected to the internal SCSI controller and you have 6 devices (e.g. 1 internal tape, 2 internal disk, 3 external disk) - that's as far as you can go. To install the cd-rom, you will *have* to move a drive to another SCSI controller, if you have one. If not, you will have to add a SCSI controller board, then move the drive(s) over to it before adding the cd-rom. -- -- - - - Speaking for myself and not necessarily anybody else - - - - - - Richard Gambrell | Internet: [log in to unmask] Mgr.
