Last week's "Personal Technology" column in the Wall Street Journal was a very positive review of the HP Pavilion (Vectra???) PC, being sold as a home PC. They are Pentium machines with Windows95 and bunches of software, and one 486. "...the most important part of these computers' names is the HP logo itself, which has earned colossal respect among consumers..." "...well-designed machines at a price close enough to the retail low-price leader... to draw sales from buyers willing to pay a little more for the security of its trusted brand name." "The Pavilion is a first-rate computer, thoughtfully designed, powerful and packed with features, at a good price." "All in all, I can recommend the HP Pavilion as a very good computer from a very good company." Nice to see HP's name in the business press!
