Fransen/King, Ltd., 1-800-6220630 or (206) 564-4000, offer a 2-user version of their FTP for only $1,000. Perhaps they would consider a rental at say $100/month? Hey! If it is just ASCII files though, you could perhaps use a contributed program (by yours truly) called MPED. This program allows users on HP-UX system to issue commands on a remote HP3000. I've transferred files by simply issuing a :PRINT command and redirecting the IO to a file. E.G. $ mpe SYS3K print myfile >mylocal The files are in the Interex CSL (ask John Sullivan) and on Jeff Kell's opus machine. Ahh but you've got a Sun machine??? Hmmm.... Well I could send you the source to the client if you've got a ANSI C compiler on condition you don't distribute it, and you mail me back the binary! :) Another possible solution, is using the contributed JTMAIL program which I wrote (blush again). This would allow you to simply e-mail the file to a user on your Unix system. With something like "procmail" this could automatically be picked up, the headers stripped, gently massaged and appended into a file. Well I guess there are a number of ways of firing your files into the Sun. :) Regards. ---- Jim "seMPEr" Wowchuk Internet: [log in to unmask] Vanguard Computer Services Compu$erve: 100036,106 _--_|\ Post: PO Box 18, North Ryde, NSW 2113 / \ Phone: +61 (2) 888-9688 \.--.__/ <---Sydney NSW Fax: +61 (2) 888-3056 v Australia
