Yes, you are probably missing the Posix Developer's Kit product (31506A).
If you already have the C/iX compiler, then you can order this for
a net cost of zero, but they stick you with a *bunch* of extra support
charges I found out, including a new 'application level' support
lineitem which they told me gets you an additional response center
caller! I left Quest before getting all the support figured out, so
I don't know what the bottom line actually is.
 
If you don't have this product on your tape, then you don't get any
of the Pisix libraries and header files. It's very hard to determine
that this is the case if you had an earlier version of these things
on your system. Vendors who are in the Vab Prep program should make
sure that both the VabPrep people *and* their official support
contracts list this item. Autoinst even displays a message that
would lead you to believe that this product is being installed, even
if it is not on the tape.
