WE've been using FTP on MPE boxes for a long time, starting with Wollongong's FTP for the Classic boxes. What we've found along the way, and it may still hold true, is that MPE doesn't handle small tcp window sizes very well. We try to configure all hosts on our local network for minimum window sizes of 1k and maxima of 4k - 8k.
