Hi gang, Quick question: how does one access the DDS tape driver from the shell ? I want to read and write a tape in tar format. When I use the tar command w/o a filename it says: tar: opening archive "/dev/tape": No such file or directory There are no files in /dev except for "sad" and "strlog". Do I have to issue a mknod command, if so, what parameters ? Or am I missing something ? My CD-ROM is broken so I have no access to the manuals. Any help appreciated. TIA. -- :) Chris Breemer [log in to unmask]
