Not surprising. I had similar numbers going from a series 70 to a 937. ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: 1:Re: Upgrading from /70 Author: [log in to unmask] at HMS-Internet Date: 4/6/95 9:06 AM I just went from a /70 to a /928 ... The Fortran stuff is native mode. Oh, if I did it again, I would get 64mb more of memory. My Glancexl screen shows about 25%-30% for user files. 30% if I am lucky. It doesn't seem to be a problem now, but I expect to do SQL/ODBC later this year and don't know what that will do to the system yet. The # of tapes went from 3 or 4 to 1 DAT for partial The # tapes went from 6-7 to 1 DAT for full backup The backup times have not changed much. (I have the 2GB drive now -- waiting for the 4-16gb drive when it is debugged. I understand that will decrease backup times substantially. Time will tell) HP did not want to support the std 600 UPS for the system so we got the next size up. The 1.3kva UPS lasted for 2h 54min during my power down test. Apps still running when power failed. System booted to application state w/o intervention when power was restored. Elbert
