Hi, In theory, if you try to re-use a tape that STORE marked as "bad", it should recognize the "TAPE IS BAD" text at the start of the tape, and do a console request to let you know the situation and ask if you want to use the tape anyway. In practice? No idea :) On Thu, Nov 25, 2021 at 2:50 PM John Sommer <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > Hi Tracy, > It marked the 1st tape as "bad", so I cleaned the tape drive and tried > again. It marked that brand new tape as "bad" too. > (sigh) > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Tracy Johnson <[log in to unmask]> > To: [log in to unmask] > Sent: Thu, Nov 25, 2021 11:30 am > Subject: Re: [HP3000-L] DDS2 > > I hate when that happens.
