Only just spotted this email in my inbox.

Not directly, as I'm pretty sure the HP9000 FTP server doesn't have the
extensions that are built into the HP3000 FTP server.

When we were migrating from the HP3000 to the HP9000 servers, our
HP3000 used to drop files onto the HP9000 and a background job ran on
the HP9000 to detect the presence of those files and stream them. We
had already used that solution to remotely stream jobs from one HP3000
to another and that solution was simple to migrate- especially as we
were (and are) using an mpe emulator.

Subject: [HP3000-L] can ftp execute a unix script

For years our 9000 has used ftp to put files on the 3000 and then submit
a job with "site stream".

Is it possible for the 3000 to do the same on the 9000?

Thanks for any help.

John
