Years ago I installed a secure web console for a previous employer and just
last week I purchased another one for my current employer, but I just can't
remember everything that I did to install it. I did not get any installation
material on what needs to be configured, but it should be rather simple as I
recall. Network guy is assigning a static IP address, connect the serial
cable to the back of the machine and attach the network cable to the
network. Does the network guy need to open a port (which I don't think I did
back then, but a lot has changed with networking since 2000)? If he has to
open a port, would the company be exposed to potential security risks? I
realize a hacker would need to know certain things about the HP3K and logon
info, but could a side door be opened?

TIA!
