Canada isn't the sole beneficiary of the call centre migration, however. American companies are opening call centre operations in India, Mexico and the Philippines, the Datamonitor study said. A large pool of English-speaking workers and lower wages make these locales appealing to U.S. companies. ------------------ I have to ask, is having a call center a government requirement? My experience with the call centers is abysmal, and it appears as though these call centers exist because they HAVE to have them, but nothing is said about the quality. I have worked with the support people at COGNOS and ROBELLE, these people are in Canada and really act like they are there to help. Some of these other companies are a joke, and the 'english speaking' workers - well - I can understand the ones in Canada, sometimes a coloquialism creeps in, but is usually not a problem. * To join/leave the list, search archives, change list settings, * * etc., please visit http://raven.utc.edu/archives/hp3000-l.html *
