The title says it really. We have 45+ Windows 2000 SP4 2-node clusters which are used as print servers among other roles. On these servers we have installed the above driver and are using Windows 2000 Pro clients which are running various SP levels of Windows 2000 and include Windows 2000 Advanced with SP3 and Citrix Metaframe XP servers (Sp2/FR2). Some users complained after using the point and print feature to install and connect to HP color laserjet 4600 printers saying they could not print while others could. A lengthy investigation revealed the users affected had usernames morethan 18 chars. Below 18 chars are OK. I have reproduced this in the lab. Here are the driver details used type: Driver version: 4.20.4600.481 date: 30 Jul 2003 operating system: Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP language(s): ArabicChinese (Simplified)Chinese (Traditional)English (US)file name: lj4600pcl6win2kxp-en.exe (2.9 MB) Tried the PS driver which is fine. The same user can print to other HP printers such as HP laserjet 2300 and HP laserjet 4100 type printers. Just the 4600 is faulty. Posting this as I am having issues emailing HP support. HTH M@ P.S. I am not monitoring this newsgroup. I am not expecting replies. just that hopefully HP see and post a fix. * To join/leave the list, search archives, change list settings, * * etc., please visit http://raven.utc.edu/archives/hp3000-l.html *
