Everyone who replied to my posting on HP3000-L and the ITRC web site, thank you. However, you all overstate the obvious -- don't use the OVERRIDE option! No matter, it is the only thing that gives me a network. Without it the network is dead in the water. When I first purchased the box in 1999 it was running under 5.5 and the network worked fine. No need for OVERRIDE. Everything was in sync. The problems began after I had done the upgrade to 6.5 PP2. From that moment onwards I had to use the OVERRIDE option. I suspect I have network modules belonging to 5.5 and 6.5 which is giving me so much grief. Last weekend when I did the upgrade to 6.5 PP3 it got even worse. After starting the network the system would freeze/hang after a few minutes. So, I eventually put everything back to 6.5 PP2. It works ok, but I have to use the OVERRIDE option. As I do not have software support with HP (as an independent contractor their fees are too high) I am pretty much screwed so even if I found out which modules are out of sync how do I get everything back in sync without paying through the nose for it? Thanks, Brian Donaldson. * To join/leave the list, search archives, change list settings, * * etc., please visit http://raven.utc.edu/archives/hp3000-l.html *
