Installing incompatability is part of Micro$oft's plans.  Don't worry, there
are enough good coders out there who will develop third party software that
will work.  If Micro$oft products ONLY talk to other Micro$oft product, they
may find themselves in a corner of the market, talking to themselves.

Are you talking about the command line ftp or the GUI stuff? I've never had
any luck with the GUI stuff and if they were to break the command line ftp,
I think they would be hard pressed to keep it working with the millions of
Unix and Linux ftp servers out there.
