That's a good question. Obviously the documentation or implementation of HP Cobol was not as conform with the Cobol standards. I am looking currently into AcuCobol and finding many things that HP-Cobol accepted but is/was not conform with the ANSI-Cobol. Therefore it is very hard to tell.
