file (rec=-80,,F,ASCII) and then added the dataset layout. I am planning on
using COBEDIT to do copy it to the end of the COPYLIB.SOURCE file. However,
I am not sure what my text file needs to look like (record size, any special
characters, etc.) and I don't want to copy it into the source file until I
am sure. Is there anything special about the file characteristics that COPY
requires when using COBEDIT?

80 byte records with a file code of EDTCT. The identification area (columns
73 to 80) of the COBOL source code should contain the name of the Copy
Member.

e.g. If you wish to COPY MYRECORD in your COBOL source then columns 73 to 80
in the data set layout file should contain "MYRECORD" without the quotes.

Note: columns 73 to 80 are columns 67 to 74 in EDIT/3000 and, I think, QUAD.
