Hello I am not sure where to ask my question as I am beginner in UNIX. My previous sysadmin set a log file to monitor a process and in the event if the log file gets too big, delete the log file and do kill -HUP syslogd id and then the log file will automatically be created again to monitor the process. But mistakenly after deleting the log file, I did kil -9 (instead of kill -HUP)syslog pid and now the log file is not being created automatically. Any ideas of how to start the log file automatically. P.Murugappan * To join/leave the list, search archives, change list settings, * * etc., please visit http://raven.utc.edu/archives/hp3000-l.html *
