No one wanted the AMISYS Client/Server (Unix) then. What makes them think anyone would now? We are using AMISYS (HP3000) and will convert to some other package when the time comes. AMISYS is not even being looked at. Dennis A. Down the road these are also organizations that will be faced with complex and difficult migrations issues, costs, etc. Any Amisys folks have any numbers on HP-3000 Amisys sites for us? The last I knew of these things, in 2000, there were around 200 Amisys sites. I have heard Amisys is looking to convert the whole application to run on Unix. They will use Micro Focus Cobol, Cognos Powerhouse for Unix, Supertool for Unix and Oracle RDBMS to recreate the environment. This sounds a lot like the aborted Amisys Client/Server product. If it is then they may be able to bring it to market sooner rather than later. I have not heard if they are going to do a vendor specific Unix flavor. They are a VAR for HP and do a land office business in HP hardware so it is a safe bet that it will, at least, run under some form of *NIX (that's @NIX for us MPE folks) that HP supports.
