I am trying to understand where the "responsibility" for the format,
etc. of printed output lies. I am attempting to determine if a problem
could be caused by the application program or by something that happens
after the report is out of the "control" of the application program.

If a report is supposed to print in color, and that report prints in
color when printed to a non-networked printer; can the application
program be at fault if the report does not print in color on a networked
printer? I am talking about a report generated on a PC and printing to
devices either attached to the PC or on a network with that PC.

This is strictly a "theoretical" question - I have zero control of any
of the pieces of the puzzle - I am just trying to clarify some points in
a discussion on another newsgroup.

TIA
