I've had the same 'bad' experiences in L.A. Phoenix, Ft. Lauderdale, etc. etc. Heck, I even had someone try to steal my van right out of my carport in Mesa, AZ. (years ago) You can stumble into a 'bad' experience if you don't know the terrain, no matter what city you're in. -----Original Message----- From: Paul Taffel [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2001 10:05 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [HP3000-L] McCormick Place - 2 thumbs down Strange comment. Los Angeles possesses (for those with the transportation means to find it) a huge variety of genuine ethnic cuisines. You name it, we've got it, along with a substantial native population to ensure that good restaurants get enough business to thrive. If you have the curiosity to explore non-American food in Los Angeles, you won't be disappointed. My recommendation: start in Koreatown, it's real close to downtown. I agree with the comments about McCormick Place. I foolishly attempted to go for a walk in the adjacent streets. Bad idea. Very bad idea.
