I saw a show on PBS the other day about the randomness effect of photons passing through an opaque barrier. Evidently, the "random" electrons that pass through get to the detector on the other side faster than they ought to.... up to 2.5 the speed of light, according to observations.  They demonstrated using this phenomenum to transmit digitized music over a link with such a component. I would imagine the implications for communications and computing are significant.
