X-no-Archive:yes And yet, I recall seeing a book whose theme was that IBM's fall in the 80's was caused by mistakes made in their heyday in the 70's. I did not read the book, but it is an interesting, if somewhat familiar premise (sowing the seeds of one's own destruction). I often wonder how many companies drive off employees for not going with the program, who were the very ones who could have saved the company from themselves. Then they bring in an "outsider" to run the company, instead of finding an insider with an alternative strategy. I have little opinion on how well or poorly Carly is running hp, although she does seem to be perpetuating the error of ignoring hp's best response to the AS/400 market... If I knew that, I ought to be running my own company, and that ain't happening. I assume it would have come up on list if she will be speaking at HP World this year. Then again, for all I know, this is plastered all over the Interex web site.
