FYI All TurboIMAGE users: The SIG ballot inputs to the overall Interex SIB process will be reviewed in a meeting at the end of this week. As of Cinderella hour Sunday night, the following items do NOT have sponsors / additional info for input to the SIB process. I may get time to do a little more myself, but don't count on it. If any of these matter to you, now is the time to contribute: Item # 1: Ranked # 6: Provide concurrent TurboIMAGE read-only DBLOCK mode (guaranteed repeatable read): Allow multiple readers, but force all DBLOCKs for WRITE access to be treated serially while READ lock is in effect. Item # 5: Ranked # 9: Provide external documentation for DBQUIESCE intrinsic used by TURBOSTORE, including appropriate end-user cautions, to allow vendors and end-users to reliably make use of this existing feature. Item # 9: Ranked # 8: Allow tracking files to be associated with an IMAGE database (all associated files; such as schemas, 3rd-party indexes, etc.). Item # 10: Ranked # 10: Allow more than 1200 items in one TurboIMAGE database. Disallowing Remote File Access (RFA) to databases with > 1200 items may make raising this limit easier, and may be acceptable. If no takers to champion last three above, likely they will fade away for this year. Note no guarantee on last three above in any case, since they are the bottom of the TurboIMAGE results. If nobody else does # 1, I *may* try and write something more; I think that really ought to be done... Ken Sletten SIGImage/SQL Chair
