Actually, the original file was not in the spooler, but had CCTL on it (File type 'FAC'). I created a new file that had all the same attributes except CCTL (File type 'FA') and FCOPY'd the original file into it. Now when I zipped the new file, the carriage control was preserved. Thanks.
