The problem definitely continues to exist for TRANDEBUG/iX when using VPLUS: If you can't redirect your VPLUS I/O to another terminal, you are mostly out of luck (confess I have not tried to run VPLUS *output* to a file; my guess is results would be generally unsat... and of course for VPLUS input..). Since our site is more and more leaving VPLUS apps behind as time goes by, the problem has diminished considerably for us over the last few years.... But I can see where being able to re-direct to a network logon would be a good and likely necessary thing for some non-VPLUS debugging too. IMO the discussion at SIGMPE at SIG3000 settled on what is clearly the preferred solution: Stan's suggestion of being able to "open" an EXISTING VT connection.... Except note that of course that should be "VT *and* TELNET" connections... :-) ... and now; while the rest of the Base was sent home early because of about ONE FOOT of new snow (of the "Cascade concrete" variety): So that incoming SIGMPE Chair John Burke does not totally put me to shame with his immediate extensive minutes & etc. post: Back to post-SIGIMAGE meeting work....
