Hey... I had that happen to me. If memory serves me correctly I had to do a 'chmod u+rwx testparm' followed by a 'chmod go+r-w+x testparm'. An 'ls' afterwards gave me the following display: -rwxr-xr-x 1 MANAGER.SYS SAMBA 370432 Jun 21 14:27 testparm regards, Robert W.Mills (Windsong Services) -----Original Message----- From: Beghein Johan [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Thursday, November 02, 2000 3:02 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: testparm utility Hello, I try to start samba on my system, I changed the smb.conf file, and when I try the testparm utility from the posix shell, i get the folowing error: 1-PUB :sh CWD is "/SAMBA/PUB". ######################################################################## MPE/iX Shell and Utilities (A.50.02) COPYRIGHT (c) Hewlett-Packard Company 1992, All Rights Reserved. ######################################################################## shell/iX> testparm /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf **** EXEC FUNCTION FAILED; subsys =517; info = 48 ABORT: /SAMBA/PUB/bin/testparm NM SYS a.00ac74a0 dbg_abort_trace+$24 NM UNKN 3b0.001f8f9c NM UNKN c90.0004ac0c [1] + Done(134) testparm /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf 26214979 Abort testparm shell/iX> Any idea ?
