I hope this analogy does not offend by comparing something small with something greater (being the following atrocity), but what comes to mind is looking at the distribution of Americans of Japanese ancestry around the 1940s and thereafter, and suggesting that the United States had guessed correctly that they all really wanted to live together behind barbed wire...
