  I have no wish to part either of the "if it's artificial, it's bad" crowd nor
of the "if we can do it, it ought to be done" crowd.  There are times when
a disk editor is the right tool and in the hands of an expert the technique can
save lives (or at least it feels that way :-).  But I don't want the
expert-to-be to gain his expertise on my production database.
  The human mind must grow to be alive.  I would not ask science to cease its
explorations (there are those who would).  But as we explore we need to do so
with caution.
