Art,

there is definetly a market especially in Germany BUT you need to be carefully:
there are a lot of post-NAZI organizations under our German younger generation,
and I assume that some of these historical things may be abused. On the other
hand, for some parts (like "Hakenkreuz") it's simply FORBIDDEN to deal with -
but this is the law and some/a lot of people do not obey and are not judged - as
long as they are not known.

I know as well that also in the U.S there are fans of A.H. which may be VERY
interested in these things.

If I were you I would keep them all and make a little museum out of it. My
father was (fortunately) captured by the U.S. troops in Bavarian when he laid
heavily wounded in a lazarett - but the U.S. soldiers "stole" him everything and
especially all his diaries he started to write down during his long stay in
several hospitals. If I had some parts given by my Dad I definetly would keep
them.

Best regards, Andreas Schmidt (as a private German person).

Subject: Way OT: WWII Collectibles Question??

Hi Jerry :)
Your Quote of the day raises this question:

Did the German's make pancakes or Streudel (sp)?? hehehehe

Actually I was wondering if anyone in this august group can help me answer my
Dad's question: Is there a market for his "collectibles"? He is looking to
reduce the "clutter" (Mom's word - hehehe) in his house.

Dad served with the Ozark Division in the European theatre and has a small
collection of Nazi patches, ribbons, dress uniform pieces and medals.... he got
rid of the weapons and other "dangerous" things when he aquired me in the '60's
at my Mom's "direct decree" hehehe

Anyone got any resources I could check? or some ideas?

Note: I already claimed the items that I have always thot to be very
impressive and have history connected with them... such as the silver metal
piece that was attached to a Gestapo (sp) Officer's hat!

Art "Couldn't Resist!!! " Bahrs
