I am considering purchasing one of those multi-function printers and would like
to know if anyone out there has any preferences.  I want to be able to copy
pages from a book so I am assuming I would need a "flatbed" model?

Do these things really work or am I better off buying individual devices?  Does
the thing need to be hooked up to an operating  PC in order to fax or scan?
Any major "gotchas" to look out for?

Any feedback would be much apreciated.
