I have a 918 and there was no configuration in sysgen. Only nmmgr, DTC and
both user port and ups have function keys.

Subject: Re: UPS, 918LX, and no DTC
Jim,
Your biggest problem will be to identify the physical hardware path for the
UPS comms port, I do not have access to a 9x8. I have tried ODE's MAPPER
before, but with no success.
My guess for the path would be 56/56.2 or 56/56.3, can somebody with a 9x8
just confirm?
The 9x8 has a UPS comms port at the back, and is configured by the UPS port
screen in NMMGR.
Logical Device [22 ] (1 - 4679)
Line Speed [1200 ] (300, 1200, 2400, 9600, or 19200 bps)
Parity [NONE] (None, Even, Odd, 0's, or 1's)
And in SYSGEN: (This is for a 1,8 KVA UPS on a 979KS400, your ID and path
will differ.)
io> ld 22
LDEV: 22 DEVNAME: OUTDEV: 22 MODE: JAID
ID: HPA2994A RSIZE: 40 DEVTYPE: TERM
PATH: 10/4/0.3 MPETYPE: 16 MPESUBTYPE: 0
CLASS: HPUPSDEV
Use UPSUTIL.MPEXL.TELESUP to finally check the status of the UPS comms.

What is the proper way to configure the UPS port (LDEV 22) on a 918LX
when you don't have a DTC installed on the network? The examples
given in HP's Instant Info CD (this product is an advance???? over
what?) apparently presumes that one will always have a DTC configured
into the system.
