Hi Chuck,

Thanks for the reply.  We are not using Roadrunner for our backups.  We are
using the simple OS store/restore commands (well, TurboStore II/XL
actually).  We are on MPE/ix 5.5 with PowerPatch 6 which may be part of the
problem as I related in my previous post just a few minutes ago.  Clean21 is
indeed the program that HP sent me and I ran it but the files would still
not restore.  We have also rebooted the processor.  I think that the HP
engineer looked at some of the files internally and did not see the store
bits being "on".  I have an escalation engineer working on my call too (hope
it isn't the same one), but I couldn't afford to wait too much longer so I
thought I would turn to those "in the know".

I have been working with HP on a similar issue where store bits are being
set on files, or not being reset when the backup has completed, that has not
yet been resolved, but an escalation engineer has been digging in deep to
try and determine the cause.

By any chance, is the remote system using RoadRunner for its backups?
Are you running MPE/iX 6.0?

If the program that HP sent you is Clean21 (as they did me)... you could run
it immediately before you do your restore which should reset most of the LAT
table entries. Just be sure that no other store process is going on at the
same time.
