I doubt telnet, but who knows, it may read services.  It is the one of
the relatively 'hard-coded' inetd services.  FTP might work on 6.0 as
it was converted to inetd and BSD sockets; the 5.5 version likely
won't since it is NetIPC and doesn't know about services (does it?).
Ping doesn't use a port.
