There are two places you need to set the TZ. The first one is in the CI with a
simple SETVAR TZ,"CST6CDT" (central time here.)

The other is in the profile for the shell. You can find this file at
/etc/profile. Open it with VI and change the line which starts with "EXPORT
TZ=" to match your proper specification. In my case that is EXPORT
TZ="CST6CDT". Now, when you enter the shell, it will be set automatically and
will display properly.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .

In our case, the TZ variable is set properly on all systems. Our shell date
displays as GMT time, but it's in proper relationship to PDT.

   shell/iX> date
   Fri Oct 29 17:31:01 GMT 1999     <<--------
   shell/iX> exit

   DEBUG/iX C.05.08

   HPDEBUG Intrinsic at: 955.00007258 PROGRAM+$198
   PRIV=$3 := $0

Try ":showvar tz" to find out what your timezone setting is. If you set the
correct tz variable, then your two clocks should synch up.
