weeks ago and it eventually caused a system abort. Only solution was to
replace the drive and re-build the volume set from tape. I'm afraid you are
probably in for a long day.

It depends on what you mean by "connect".  If you're looking to have
a program running on the Unix box read and write files on the MPE
box, then probably not (unless it was designed with MPE in mind).
I'm not sure if any of the third party NFS packages for MPE provide
that ability, but Samba unfortunately will not.
