Probably just a shot in the dark, but......

Odds are that you don't an EOL (End of Line) character at the end of 
each 690 bytes. Try re-formatting the file with a null or 
CR + LF (%15 %12) in-between each 690th & 691st byte.
 That's where I would start looking  ;-) 

Or you could try using FTP into a bytestream (HFS) file on the 3000, then
FCOPY with the appropriate fileeq's into a 70,000 x 690 ASCII MPE file.

Hi all,

I am trying to transfer a large file 70,000+ records by 690 char. wide from
my PC to a HP3000 os ver 5.5.  Every time I try to transfer WRQ gives me
'Transfer aborted-record longer then 32767 bytes'  Any suggestion on how to
transfer the file?
