To me, this whole 9/9/99 thing is a bit of a red herring. If you turn this thing
into a "YYMMDD" date it comes out as "990909". I've seen systems with "dummy"
dates of "999999" which, of course is an impossible date.

Subject: Another Y2K date tomorrow
Since I'm in digest, I'm not sure if this subject has come up yet today but
I wonder if we will hear about any interesting Y2K stories tomorrow. I know
that April 9, 1999 came and went without a problem and I think Sept 9, 1999
will do the same but it will be interesting to see what happens.
