There are two kinds of threads: user threads and kernel threads.  MPE/iX
has both, but the kernel threads are (a) not usable by users; and (b) have
certain significant problems that I can't currently recall;

I don't have any examples, but hope to see some posted.

This (threads) is a good case where more "POSIX smoothing" might be needed.
