Hey Peter,

It's obvious from your response that you never served in any country's armed
forces. Take it from me, I spent 20 years in the Corps. The general's response
was one of the funniest things that I've ever heard a General say. I only wish
I was there to hear it live!

It's about time the leadership in the U.S. stands up against the asinine attacks
on the responsible use of firearms and firearms training. I, for one, also
received my first formal firearms training in the Boy Scouts and I can assure
you that there is no finer program available for young men and women (nowadays).
Maybe that female reporter will do her due diligence and get some formal
firearms training. Maybe then, she'll be able to talk intelligently about the
subject that she professed herself to be knowledgeable about. And Peter, you
might want to get some formal firearms training yourself. Lastly, to you,
General Reinwald, keep up the good work!!

Semper Fi,

John Hornberger
GySgt USMCR (Ret.)

P.S. The above comments are mine alone!

Would this be as funny if the broadcaster were male? Would the general have
said such a thing to a man? If the answer is no to both questions, then
this bit of Friday humour is not just dirty - which most adults can handle
- but offensive, which is certainly how I feel about it.

Peter
