Either your web browser corrupted the .tar.Z archive when you downloaded the
archive to your PC, or your ftp client corrupted the archive when you
uploaded the archive to your 3000.

Because of this potential for corruption, it's always best to download my
freeware stuff directly from your 3000 by running the FTP.ARPA.SYS ftp
client (if your firewall allows your 3000 to outbound ftp).  Follow the
instructions exactly as written on any of my freeware pages.

But if you simply must use a web browser....

Make sure in your web browser you right-click the .tar.Z archive link, and
then do "Save As" or somesuch.  DO NOT display the archive to your screen
followed by a Save.

Verify that your PC ftp client is uploading the .tar.Z archive as an MPE
POSIX bytestream file.
