Team HP3000-L on the SETI@home project is now ranked number #93 among the
"Clubs," and has blossomed to 66 members throughout its existence.
The real purpose of this post is that I am in a constructive discussion
with a gentleman about the expected performance of the client on a
600 MHz P-III under Windows (sorry, I don't know if it's 98 or NT).
For those running the SETI@home client on a Windows machine, can you
send me (off-list, please!) the following info:
- CPU model (PPro, P-II, etc.) and speed (MHz)
- #processors (if more than one)
- amount of installed memory
- approx. time-out period for graphics (if you know this)
- average time per work unit
Yes, I know there are other important factors, but
(1) I don't want to ask for too much, and
(2) this should provide a rough idea.
Many thanks (again, for the off-list reply).
--Glenn
