With everyone else contributing, I can't resist.

This has happened to me more than once. Go into a store and pay for something in cash, only to find that the register is down and the clerk has no clue how to count change; at least not with their shoes on, thank the gods for dress codes <g>.

The one thing many of these anecdotes tells me is that while my public school education left much to be desired, I can rest assured my kids aren't having to work any harder <sigh>.
