Shirl Gholston and UTC's Student Support Services program has received
$196,957 in continued funding for Student Support Services from the U.S.
Department of Education.

Student Support Services provides counseling, advisement, a peer mentoring
program, advocacy/referrals, and a wide variety of educational, social, and
cultural events not normally available to disadvantaged students.  These
services and activities are designed to increase the retention and graduation
rate of participants.

The Office of Grants and Program Review would like to congratulate Ms.
Gholston for securing financial support to continue a program that is so
vital to UTC students.
