Dr. Mary Tanner has received $648,759 from the US Department of Education
to implement a Teacher Quality Enhancement grant program.

This program will be a collaborative effort by UT-Chattanooga and
UT-Knoxville to address problems faced by high need school systems in
Hamilton and Knox Counties. UTC will be the lead partner, and we will
subcontract to UTK.

Urban IMPACT will fund curricular revisions and support professional
development activities for both pre- and in-service teachers. The most
important long-term outcome is to foster higher academic achievement among
high need students.

Please join the Grants and Program Review in congratulating Dr. Tanner on
securing these funds to assist high need schools.
