We have not had to use JINETD job to connect PC"s to the HP3k. we just needed to make sure that the PC had the vt protocol was installed for reflections on the PC.

Thanks

I didn't think that NS/VT went via the HP internet services - we've been
running NS/VT logons for ages without the JINETD job stream running.

Keep me posted if there's is a solution here !

PS If you can predict the HPLOGON or the PC's local IP address then
I would recommend MPEX security - the disadvantage here is that you
have to let them get the colon prompt first - presumably you want to
prevent NS/VT from even handshaking with the PC in the first place !

Hi all,

We want to use INETD to allow only a few PC's to logon on our HP3000 system
using NS/VT. Which lines do I have to add to the files INETCDNF and INETSEC
to make this possible?

Thanks
