I still use allocate - no joke. We've had a Series 42 for a good 15 years -
Never had to upgrade because my business has been shrinking due to
demographic and technological changes.

I stumbled upon the mpe newsgroup and it was as if I came out of a time
warp.

When I left Alfredo Rego was living in Guatemala and Charles Finley had a
company called ConAm.

I will have to get a PA machine probably next month since MPE doesn't seem
to know that 00 is 2000 and not 1900.

Bill and Dave built this machine too well - in the time we've had it the
CPU, er, SPU, had ONE service call - bad fan. The CEs came out here and
marveled at stuff they hadn't seen in years.

One funny story - we were among the last to use the 2645 terminal. Still
best keyboard ever made IMO. HP had a customer in Reno doing medical billing
and they depended on this terminal so when theirs broke HP took ours for a
700 series. They no longer had the parts in their inventory.

Well, gotta run.
